Clinical Background

Sarah Possié is a Registered Midwife with over 16 years of clinical experience in reproductive and women’s healthcare.
She is the Founder and Clinical Director of Possié Integrative Medicine — a progressive private clinic delivering trauma-informed, systems-based women’s healthcare within a clinically governed framework.

Sarah trained and worked within one of Ireland’s busiest maternity hospitals — the National Maternity Hospital, Dublin, where over 10,000 babies are delivered annually.

She has also worked across:

  • Fertility clinics

  • Sexual health services

  • Lecturing in Universities including UCD & DCU

  • The Dublin Well Woman Centre

In these high-volume environments, she developed deep clinical expertise in women’s health — while also recognising the limitations of time-restricted, symptom-led care.

Clinical Approach

Sarah’s work is grounded in a systems-based understanding of female physiology, with a focus on the interaction between:

  • Hormonal signalling

  • Gastrointestinal function

  • Nervous system regulation

She specialises in:

  • Fertility and preconception care

  • Hormonal health (PMS, PMDD, perimenopause, menopause)

  • Gut–hormone and microbiome-related concerns

  • Recurrent vaginal imbalance (BV, thrush)

  • Mood and ADHD symptom patterns in relation to hormones

  • Pregnancy and postnatal care

Her approach combines:

  • Evidence-informed midwifery

  • Clinical reasoning

  • Trauma-informed practice

  • Carefully selected integrative therapies within governance frameworks

Why This Work

Through her experience in both medical and holistic settings, Sarah identified a gap in women’s healthcare.

She saw:

  • Women receiving repeated treatment without resolution

  • Symptoms managed, but not fully understood

  • Limited time to explore the complexity of women’s health

She also saw that many holistic approaches offered depth — but often lacked clinical structure, safety, and governance.

Possié Integrative Medicine was created to bridge that gap.

The Experience She Provides

Sarah is known for combining clinical precision with a calm, regulated presence.

She creates an environment where women feel:

  • Safe

  • Heard

  • Respected

  • Clear

Patients often describe their experience as:

“The first time everything has been properly explained”

“I finally feel understood”

Clinical Ethos

Care is:

  • Structured

  • Collaborative

  • Clinically grounded

  • Delivered without rush or hierarchy

Women remain the authority over their own bodies.
Sarah brings the clinical expertise to support that authority.

  • "I felt completely safe and supported from the moment I walked in. Sarah has a way of combining deep clinical knowledge with genuine care and presence. For the first time, I actually understood what was going on in my body. The consultation was thorough, unhurried, and incredibly insightful. I left with a clear plan and a real sense of relief. This is not just a treatment — it’s a completely different standard of care.'
